My intent in my photography is to capture what stands out in you as beauty. When I shoot my camera I expect everyone to see what I just saw. Each picture should have emotion.
I believe firmly in a persons comfort level when modeling with a photographer. There needs to be an understanding of professionalism, fun, and just that everyone is there to get cool pictures and smile, or frown depends on the shot. ![]()
I like my pictures to have a theme or feel to them.
I prefer to stray away from the “smile, click” or lack there of style shooting and more of a photo that you can look at and say, “Yeah that really IS me” or even “Whoa cool, I didn’t know I could be that way” I find this method to be very fulfilling for both me and the model. And in case this comes off too invasive think of it as just me trying to shoot against the grain and have someone who is willing to help with that vision. Perhaps a snarl instead of a smile and perhaps when you snarl that moment in between when you lose focus on what I asked and think of something that inspired you.
I strive to really help build the portfolio of the people I shoot, if anything help them to open up to modeling in ways they didn’t know before, as I have dabbled in a bunch of off Broadway directing.
I tend to look at it as a two way street however, I do expect the people who I work with to give input when they can if not on the same level as me when shooting! I love feedback and input. I think photography is a very interactive environment.
If this sounds fun to you, feel free to contact me.
